difficulty and hardship despite your ill health, and I dould not help being very sorry whenever I thought at

a distance of the misery that had befallen you, and my

conscience has felt guilty and pained. in arrival in

Shanghai, I desired to keep my movements secret, and

therefore I did not come to see you. But on reading

the circular telegram of Comrade Tseung Kai Shek yester- day, I found no further secrecy was necessary, and I expected to see you when I met Tseung in his house this morning. However, I did not find you there, and I regret it very much.

In view of the present situation of our Kuomintang

I am of the opinion that nothing can settle the trouble

unless a 4th General meeting is convened in Nanking.

In order to achieve this end, I am compelled to ake

a trip to Wuhan in the hope that the approval of the

majority of the members may be secured. The meeting may

be held on the 15th April or the sooner the better;

but after all it must be held some time about the 15th.

If the meeting can be successfully convened, we can

expect to convert the present dangerous situation into

one of safety. I will give you all the details on my

return from Wuhan, and i hope earstly that you will

take the matter in hand.

with regards,

Shiu Ming.

Pik Kwan (wife of Wong) sends you her regards.

dated 5th (April, 1927.
